If you haven’t started using video as part of your marketing, now is the time. Many times I have been told by clients that they are not comfortable being on video, and I get it, neither am I. However, I will say for those who have moved out of their comfort zone and started creating videos they are happy to report that with each video they make they not only get better, but more comfortable being on camera. No matter if you are new to video marketing or have been doing it for some time now, here are some mistakes to avoid.
1. Don’t Lose Viewers By Being Too Wordy
Did you know on average you have six seconds to grab the attention of your Facebook audience while using a video? With that being said, don’t waste your time with a long winded introduction. Get straight to the point! Also, another thing to note is that many times these viewers are watching on mute, so you want to be able to grab their attention without the certainty that they can hear you. One way to do this is to make sure the background of your video is appealing to your target audience.
2. Producing Irrelevant Content For Your Audience
Don’t make the mistake of producing content that isn’t targeted to your audience. To avoid this mistake you have to first understand your target audience and what they are looking for. What is your target audience searching for on the internet? Do some research on keywords and create a video around that.
3. Don’t Overestimate Success
Now that you have created a video don’t expect it to immediately skyrocket your marketing results. Set one goal you would like to accomplish with your video. Is your goal to build brand awareness? Generate sales? Or increase website traffic? Pick one goal and build a video around that.
